Brera, ancient district of
Milano, full of history,
art, culture, has always been the beloved
area of
artists, who met at small bars, later
called "caffe letterari" (literature
coffees); still
today they are frequented by "milanesi" and
tourists
coming here on purpose. |

This district still
preserves the narrow streets
paved with old cobblestones which create a
sort of passage that, in former times, was
reserved for horse-drawn
carriages. |

The whole district
boasts many historical
buildings and
important monuments,
among them the
"Pinacoteca di Brera",
which today
hosts the Accademia di Belle
Arti (Arts
Academy), and the church Santa
Maria del Carmine
in the picturesque square
of the same
name. |

But Brera doesn't
mean only "tradition", today it
means also exclusive shopping, small
peculiar
stores, fascinating with their "real, very
milanese" style, old
shops full of curiosities and
vintage, unforgettable bars and restaurants. |

A Brera si trova...
"tutto" e, soprattutto, ciò che la città, offre: "Brera" è unica, uguale a
niente, resta nel cuore e nell'anima di chi la visita. Da un anno circa
oltre 100 imprenditori di zona hanno fondato la "Brera" Associazione
Commercianti che, in collaborazione con Enti pubblici e privati, promuove
e organizza varie iniziative a carattere culturale ed artistico, oltre che
commerciale, spesso benefiche affinché la magica atmosfera, caratteristica
di questo splendido quartiere, rimanga intatta nel tempo. |
